NINE

Remembering the past- imagining the future

The year they were born an unpronounceable volcano was erupting in Iceland.

Since then it's been an eventful nine years.

The Arab spring, Brexit, Minecraft, a climate emergency, Donald Trump, COVID-19.

But what do they remember and what was actually important to them?

Nine years old marks the middle point between being born and being and adult. It's an important age of remembering the past and imagining the future.

So what does the future look like to them? How will they look in the future? Will the world last? Will we ever return the 'old normal'? Do they think there will ever be a female pope? Will we eventually all start falling in love with robots?

When they turn 18 the year will be 2030. What will the world be like by then?

This new project from Bootworks Theatre Company is supported by GL4 & Strike A Light and will comprise of workshops and performances through 2021-2022.

The project will strive to champion the voices, perspective and world-view of local young people
